DEO trainees visit to LIC, Nalagarh

Don Bosco Tech Society(Nalagarh) had been to Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) on March 5, 2020. The Domestic Data Entry Operator (DEO) trainees were accompanied by Mr. Lal Chand Thakur (Trainer, Data Entry Operator) and Mr. Sunil Kumar (Center Coordinator) to the designated location, located at Nalagarh.

Mr. Praveen Kumar Chauhan (Manager) explained saying, “Life Insurance Corporation of India is a state-owned enterprise and investment company, geographically and its capacity, the largest insurance company in the country.” Though its headquarter is in Mumbai, he added, “It boasts of a nationwide presence with its eight zonal offices, 113 divisional offices, 2000+ branch offices and an 11,60,000+ strong agent network. Addressing every individual's needs and requirements; varied tastes, this branch assists customers in selecting one from various available schemes and plans, best suited to their requirements.”

He mentioned the trainees about the availability of a wide range of products; broadly classified as insurance plans, special plans, pension plans, unit plans, micro insurance plans, and health plans. He also explained LIC services and its sections saying, “sales, policy-holders’ service section, sales training section, and branch support section.” The manager said, “Data entry is one of the profile work,” added, “An employee must know to work on MS Excel, the spreadsheet used to enter the data.” He demonstrated the trainees about how to enter data. Mr. Praveen Kumar further added that they provide job opportunities to youth as part-time and full time too in different departments as LIC agent, and can earn handsomely. He said, “They get stipend up to Rs. 4000/-.” He added, “This scheme is to encourage rural-unemployed-youth.” 

The trainees were happy to visit this prestigious organization. At the end of the day, the trainees extended their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Kumar and the entire team of Life Insurance Corporation (Nalagarh) for the permission, information, and support given. The trainees were very happy with this exposure visit as they learned a lot. They were thankful to the team of Don Bosco Tech (Nalagarh) for organizing this fruitful visit.
