All the trainees of Don Bosco Tech Society, Punalur center set out to visit Travancore mall, Hotel Ruby Arena, Poovar Resort, and Kovalam Beach as part of the course curriculum. The visit was on November 12, 2019, for Quest Batch 14. The students learned and visited the various departments of the mall and resort.

 As planned the trainees together with the trainers arrived Trivandrum by 9:30 am where they had their breakfast and then visited the Travancore mall as well. In the mall, some of the students were surprised to see the escalator, as these trainees hail from a far off villages. Here the students were briefed by the General Manager who gave a short introduction about the customer interaction and the nature of job opportunities in their field. It was followed by a group discussion helped by the staff of the mall and the students. The students enjoyed learning in this manner. They showed a keen interest in learning.

The Ruby Arena, a-4-star hotel was the next spot where the HR gave a short introduction about the setup. By then it was already 1:30 pm, hence, They set out for Poovar Resort, the most exciting spot which is on the bank of Kovalam Beach. It was a long trip to the resort. On their arrival, the staff gave a warm welcome and refreshed them with cool drinks. Here the trainees were briefed about the various department of a hotel; front office, back office, service, housekeeping, etc. The trainees had a rush through clay made items.

As the Poovar Resort is on the bank of the Kovalam Beach the students were seen enjoying with the backwaters. They were divided into groups of four-five as they visited different parts of the beach. At 6:00 pm they were served tea. Since these trainees were tired they spent about half an hour rest. It was 8:30 pm when these trainees started to move back to the training center.

The trip made was a tiresome but informative and enjoyable one. The staff the students reached back to the training center by midnight.
