New batch under Accenture and SELCO Foundation inaugurated at Don Bosco Tech – Shillong, Meghalaya

The Inauguration program for the 1st batch of Assistant Electrician – Solar under the project of Accenture and SELCO Foundation was held Don Bosco Tech – Shillong, Meghalaya on August 4, 2017. The inauguration program was attended by Fr. Phillip Barjo (Rector), Brother Anthony Sumer (Centre head and Principal of Don Bosco Technical School), Mr. Vinod Marak (Electrical Supervisor - Don Bosco Technical School), Ms. Rhiedolcy Diengdoh ( Cluster Coordinator - Don Bosco Tech Society), Mr. Gunja Gurung (CE & ITES Trainer), Mr. Aibankiew Kharkongor ( Trainer Electrical), Ms. Beronika Lila Rai (Trainer ISMO), Ms. Grecia Blah (Trainer Hospitality), Mr. Rudolf Nongrum (Trainer Electrical & Solar) and 30 newly inducted trainees. 

Addressing the trainees and participant, Fr. Philip Barjo stated, “Time has come for the trainees of Accenture-SELCO project to gain another add-on knowledge on solar energy apart from basic electrical”. 

In the welcome speech Mr Rudolf Nongrum thanked everyone for coming and making the program successful. Fr. Phillip Barjo offered prayer followed cutting of ribbon cutting to formalized the inauguration of the centre. 

Brother Anthony Sumer, at length discussed about the various scope and privileges that the training program and the solar field had to offer. He inspired them to be attentive and serious which will help them in the long run. Apart from imparting some useful lessons he also shared some inspirational as well as enriching thought on various life lessons which will be needed to sustain them as they go out into an unfamiliar environment in future.  

Thanking and appreciating for the opportunity, trainees presented a gospel songs at the inauguration program. Ms. Rhiedolcy Diengdoh concluded the program with a vote of thanks to everyone who were present and wishing the students all the very best.
