“I am very much thankful to Don Bosco Tech Society, ITC and the staff of Srinagar centre, who helped me to overcome all my ups and downs in my life,” stated Arsheena Khan.

Arsheena’s life was transformed by Don Bosco Tech when she joined the Sales Associate course funded by ITC and is now happily working as an Assistant Manager at a Renowned Unisexual Brand for haircuts 'Make Over' of Kashmir earning a monthly salary of INR. 20,500. 

Born in Khanayar, Srinagar, Arsheena Khan live with her parents and two young siblings. Her Father a carpenter would work hard to support the family and her mother would take care of the household work. It was not easy for her father to meet all the basic expenses of the family. Witnessing the poor living condition at home, Arsheena was always determined to get a job whatever the odds.

Her mother is her biggest strength who motivates her to pursue higher education to be successful. But this was not possible as the family income was insufficient. Having big dreams for Arsheena, her mother could not resist to insist her to visit Don Bosco Tech Srinagar on knowing about the job oriented free skill training. 

Upon joining the course, she took time coming out of her shell during class interactions and discussions. Coming from a necessitous family made her feel insecure. She was quiet and her worries about her gestures and her choice of words affected her learning and confidence. Noticing this condition, the trainers realized all it takes is a push to get her on her feet. They counselled and motivated her to step up and not to be afraid. In the process, Arsheena picked up faster than expected because she tried a bit more than everyone else. She stayed after classes to study. In some cases, she would also help her fellow classmates. 

Her hard work was evident by the time she completed the training. She proudly said, “My pronunciation has improved. Now I do not have a problem searching on Internet, talking to strangers, or speaking in English”.

On 01-Aug-2019, Arsheena Khan wisely accepted an Assistant Manager Job offer from the Renowned Unisexual Brand for haircuts “Make Over” of Kashmir that paid her a good salary of INR. 15000/- per month. Soon enough her dedication paid off with an increment and is now earning INR. 20,500. 

Arsheena has decided to fulfil her dream to support her family. With this experience, she is ready for a bigger platform. Today her family is happy and proud of her.
