“Success comes to those who aim for the sky’ This is true in the case of a young girl named Preti Gurung, who overcame quite a several odds in her life and lived to tell a tale about it. An extrovert and ambitious girl who hails from Kohima, Nagaland was given a chance to make good of her life when she was spotted by the faculties of Don Bosco Tech Mahram, Senapati, Manipur, and she enlisted herself in the Food & Beverage-Steward domain. She lost her father at an early age and her mother was the sole bread earner of the family. With two more siblings to look after, the financial burden was a bit tough at times and this is when Priti decided to help her mother and wanted to support her in every possible way.

10th pass student, Priti Gurung had a hard time, in the beginning, overcoming the barrier of speaking in English and had a hard time embracing the flamboyance that went with it. Not only that the hotel management’s etiquettes which the course that she was undergoing was teaching her, which she was slowly coming to terms with were proving to be a different kettle of fish altogether. But with help from the faculty and through her endeavor she slowly made progress and started to improve in her course studies and her English speaking abilities. One thing despite all the hurdles that this soft-spoken hill-billy was going through, she served as an epitome of perseverance.

Now Prity Gurung is working as a Service Steward in Rajgiri Hospital in Kerela with a handsome salary of INR 17K and she seems determined to further her promotion and delivering on her promise to excel even further. She further says” A heartfelt gratitude to Don Bosco Tech Society, For the love and above all for the guidance. This institution is my family and I shall forever be grateful for everything that it has done for me.”
