There was a young girl being named Tayamma by the parents Mallappa and Mallamma. She grew up in poverty stricken family of 6 members who lives at Yadgir, a backward area of North Karnataka. Being the eldest in the family, she was required to perform house hold work along with attending the school.  Even though she was doing her best in school, her parents were not happy with her performance.

Thayamma had lot of plans and desires in her life, things were going in her favor but only till she turned 18 and could not get through her PUC examination.  After this, she got really depressed being unable to accept the failure on her part. But the poor condition of the family motivated her to come out of the dilemma and look out for some work to earn something to meet the needs of the family. With no choice around, she started working. Though, she was involved in some job with a wish to support the family, she was not satisfied with what she was doing. She always wanted to do something big that can remove the tag of poverty stricken from the family. She has always aspired to do something great.

One day, while she was attending a woman’s meeting in her village, she came to know about DB Tech offering 3 month skill training in different domains. This is a special programme being launched for the poor and deprived youth by DB Tech in partnership with MoRD (Govt. of India). The best part about the programme is the job assurance provided. The next day she visited the Yadgir centre to enquire more about the training. Knowing details, she was convinced to join the program; she got her name registered for Sales and Marketing domain.

She was obedient during her tenure as a trainee in BASE and she proved it couple of times. She used to share a warm relation with all her trainers and was liked by all the trainers and even trainees. Thayammma was very active in all the activities. In three months’ time she excelled with complete knowledge of the marketing field and also at speaking English and operating computer. 

After completing the training, she went for an interview with Adithya More Birla and got selected for the position of Sales Executive person at a monthly salary of Rs 5, 000 plus other allowances. It was a moment of proud for all the trainers at Yadgir centre and especially for Thayamma, whose Shattered dream has now been realized.
