Alfred James, a 28-year-old resident of an underprivileged area in the Chennai district of Tamil Nadu, overcame significant challenges to achieve success in his career. Coming from a financially struggling family, Alfred’s mother worked as a daily wage laborer, striving to provide a decent life for their family of three. Despite their difficult circumstances, she ensured that Alfred received a proper education, and he completed his MSc in Computer Science at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur.

In his pursuit of a job to support his family financially, Alfred discovered the BASE Program Don Bosco Tech through a friend’s recommendation. Recognizing the opportunity it presented, he promptly visited the Don Bosco Tech, Manikandam Centre, completed the necessary formalities, and enrolled himself in the Cloud Computing Program, supported by AWS. During the initial one-on-one interactions with the training team, it was evident that Alfred needed to improve his communication skills and boost his self-esteem.

Undeterred by the challenges he faced, Alfred demonstrated great enthusiasm for the training program and exhibited regular attendance. He actively participated in all activities and gradually overcame his fears and gained confidence in himself. Reflecting on his transformation, Alfred said, “Through the BASE Program, I have cultivated intelligence, sharpness, discipline, and humility, all of which have propelled me forward with unwavering confidence in my career.”

Upon completion of the program, Alfred’s dedication paid off as he secured a job with Tech Mahindra Ltd in Bangalore City, with a noteworthy annual salary package of INR 5.75 Lakhs. This achievement brought immense joy to his parents, who were deeply grateful to Don Bosco Tech Society for transforming their child’s life. Today, Alfred serves as a beacon of hope for many young individuals facing similar struggles, guiding them toward the BASE program and inspiring them to find their path to success.
