25-year-old Anil Kumar Warkade hails from Khamaria, a small village in Tehsil-Rithi , Katni  District of Madhya Pradesh.  Man Kumar, father of Anil Kumar was a farmer.  Thanks to his inspiring presence, Anil Kumar successfully cleared his Class XII exams. 

During one of the mobilization drive by Don Bosco Tech, Katni ITI, he learned about Bosco Academy for Skills and Employment (BASE) center at Jeevdhara ITI Katni. Anil Kumar went up to the team of trainers there, who advised him to take up a course in the ‘Security’ domain. Anil Kumar passed out of the course with an impressive record. Few days after completing his Security Training   course, Anil Kumar attended a job interview and received a job offer as a ‘Security Guard’ in Bakshi Security Service in Katni . He cheerfully accepted the modest starting salary of Rs 4500/- pm, and went about his work with great zeal and commitment. His Securty officer was impressed with Anil Kumar for the dedication and hard work that he showed while working.  Thanking BASE for what he is today, Anil Kumar says, “BASE is a place were any person can achieve their aim with the support of the Don Bosco Tech and foog trainers.  I am really grateful to my trainers for instilling self-belief in me”.

His Parents expressed, “We are so happy that our son is able to earn something and help to sustain our family. He takes such good care of us, and doesn’t allow me to go out and work anymore. Seeing the transformation in Anil Kumar, one of my neighbors admitted his son in a ‘Security’ course in BASE. Anil Kumar has indeed been such a good influence in our village. My dream is that he should get a government job, so that his future can be more secure.”

Initially he hardly interacted in the workplace, but now he overcame his shyness and is very friendly with everyone now.
