Pinky Kumari is a 21-year-old girl from the village of Gobrahia in the West Champaran district. It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Pinky as she is from a financially poor background who have fought all the odds. She lives with her parents, three sisters and one brother. In order to let her siblings continue their education, she had to drop school after her Class XII. She wanted to support her family financially. Not long after the seed had been planted in her mind, Pinky started to survey different pathways in order to help her family. She came to know about Don Bosco Tech Society, how it has transformed many underprivileged youths by giving them free skill training programs with employment opportunities.

Don Bosco Tech Society came as a blessing for her. Joining the free skill training program at Don Bosco Tech Muzaffarpur was recommended by her cousin sister. She was informed that the organization can help her to get a job. After making initial enquiries, she decided to turn her dream into a reality. She challenged herself by opting for the General Duty Assistant Course which is supported by HSBC.

She was a bit nervous about the course and during the first few weeks, she admitted to being challenged by the learning. She was a quiet girl and an intelligent trainee. In the beginning, she was feeling very low and inferior as she had a problem communicating in English. Determine to succeed, Pinky sought the help of the trainers to clarify doubts which helped her understand the lessons and steered her in the right direction. She took active participation in all the activities organized in the Center. She was very much comfortable with the homely environment which made her improved her skills and talents.

On completion of the training, Pinky claims that her life has been completely changed. Before joining the training she had no knowledge about Health Care and its importance. She wishes to become a good nurse one day. Her confidence secured her a job as a Nursing Assistant in  HYDERABAD. Her present salary is  16000 per month with accommodation. She considered this opportunity as the greatest blessing in her life. She enjoyed caring for patients with higher acuity levels/needs. The staff were highly trained, experienced and very supportive. It was a fantastic learning opportunity for her.
