23-year-old Mr.Isaka Pradhan is the youngest child of his family. He comes from a Schedule Tribe background and belongs to a very poor family. His family consists of his parents, one elder brother, two elder sisters, and himself. His father is a farmer and everyone in the family helps in the land cultivation. The financial pressure was getting worse by the day and life was kind of miserable for Isaka and his family.

Before joining the Don BoscoTech training program, he had completed his matriculation but was unable to continue his study due to his poor financial condition. One day he came to know about the Don Bosco Tech training center at Sambalpur from his friend and he Immediately decided to take admission. He was counseled and finally, he decided to pursue Food & Beverage service steward domain under Accenture – 10.

At first, as expected Isaka had a terrible time adjusting to the strict and disciplinary life of the Institute. He also had a difficult time in coming to terms with the pros and cons of Hotel Management and the course that he was undergoing was proving to be a tough business for him. He missed his usual carefree lifestyle and the simple life of his home but as time wore on and with the help from the teachers and peers he was able to get the gist of things positively and looked forward to working in the hotel industry.

He was able to crack the interview held on campus and he was selected as Steward at Adish Lodge Bar, Restaurant at Jagatpur, Cuttack, Odisha with the salary of INR 6000/- with food & accommodation. After the completion of six months of his job he got a chance to join as Floor Supervisor at Z1 apartment in Bhubaneswar, Odisha with 14500/- and is doing well for himself which is a far cry from the miserable life that he lived before.

His family members are happy for him and his support towards their financial needs has not gone unnoticed. He is very happy with his job too where he can sharpen his skills and knowledge and also focus on his career growth. His father a proud man walks with his head held high and says that “Isaka is a wonderful son and a family person who is helping me in every moment both morally and financially in this pandemic too."
